The unknown exotic Greek island that has warm waters all year round and no waves
Close your eyes for a while, not completely, so that you can read at the same time and let’s communicate telepathically.
Think of a huge natural bay, over 700 meters wide, absolute silence around you, turquoise sea and so clear, that you can see your reflection in it and calm, warm water, like someone has turned the water heater on.
Sounds like an elusive paradise, doesn’t it? Well, it is not: Diaporos is a small island just opposite Vourvourou in Halkidiki and less than 10 km from Agios Nikolaos in the Municipality of Sithonia.
The biggest part of the island is covered by a beautiful green pine forest, that seems to have sprung from a painting by an inspired artist, while its calm water and deserted beaches are the ultimate destination for anyone who wants to relax.
Despite the fact that, as we said before, the natural bay is quite large, the water around the island is never cold, so it’s a must for winter swimmers, who don’t miss the opportunity of going to Diaporos for a swim during the winter.
The only way to get there is by renting a boat.
Here in Greece we are used to saying that “there is no place like Halkidiki”… Diaporos is the island located opposite the east side of Vourvourou and you should visit it at least once in your lifetime.
Each and every one of us deserves to walk in Paradise – don’t you?
